Fallout 4 ist das Spiel des Jahres und auch das Rollenspiel des Jahres. Neben Bethesdas Rollenspiel aus der Post-Apokalypse wurden auch The Witcher 3: Wilde Jagd, Ori and the Blind Forest und Rocket League mit jeweils drei Preisen ausgezeichnet.
Auch Hideo Kojima war anwesend. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain wurde als Adventure-Spiel des Jahres ausgezeichnet, während Kojima selbst in die Hall of Fame der Akademie für interaktive Kunst und Wissenschaft aufgenommen wurde. Satoru Iwata wurde posthum für sein Lebenswerk geehrt.
